Cars – they are everywhere. Most of us own cars and use them primarily to get around. Whether we have to go to our office, whether we have to visit some relatives or whether we have to make a quick shopping trip to a mart in the middle of the night, we can count on these magical vehicles. But despite the advancements in technology that have not only revolutionized the production of the car but have also transformed the car itself, even after close to a century, these vehicles run on the same thing: fossil fuels. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Tesla Motors has been spearheading the move to electric cars while all other companies have been dragging their feet. But the greatest hurdle that has been standing in Tesla’s way was the price; while Model S and Model X (the first two cars from the company) offered what no one else did – no need for gasoline – they weren’t what one would call inexpensive. Either of that model could easily cost one close to $100,000 and that was something that was a huge barrier to entry. Even the most eco-friendly average customer wasn’t going to shed out that much dough for a car. Tesla was aware of the problem and that is the very reason that they came up with their latest model: Tesla Model 3.
What makes the Model 3 so special?
The reason that Model 3 is such a special car is its price. It will sell for $35000. Compared to the price of its predecessors, that’s a steal. The lower price means that not only it will attract more customers, more customers will actually be able to afford it. That is something that Tesla Motors and its CEO Elon Musk have been gunning for a long time.
But only the price doesn’t get one anywhere; the car has to offer something significant at that price point. And the Model 3 definitely does. Tesla claims that this car can go 215 miles on a single charge. That is nothing to scoff and not only that Tesla hopes to improve that even further when the car finally hits the road.
The incredible mileage is just a part of the story; the base model of Tesla Model 3 can go from 0 to 60 mph in less than six seconds. That’s fast. And not only that, Tesla says that there will be other versions available that can go much faster. Tesla Model 3 is also compatible with Tesla Supercharger technology. What that means that topping off the battery in a car won’t take a long time. One can be ready to go in minutes by charging at a Tesla Supercharger stations. With thousands of Supercharger stations at numerous locations with their number set to increase, this is one of the features that make this car such a good deal.
Tesla Model 3 will ship by the end of 2017 but customers can reserve a model by paying only a $1000.
